i have been d'f for over a year and two elders came by to see me for a breif visit.
what do you say when they arrive ?
are they making an inspection of your place of residence or you ?
I say nothing

with all the talk in the organization about the end being so close, and we have all heard this story over and over again for years, as a young/loyal jw, did you think you would see your 60th birthday.. if we were to walk into the kingdom hall today and poll all the jw's under 30, and ask them "will you see your 60th birthday", what kind of response would you get ???.
armageddon is not coming, the year 2014 will pass, as will 2025, 2075, 2100, and even 3000. .
would love to hear experiences from some of the older ones on this board, who probaly thought the same thing when they were young.
congrats dmouse!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

court: jehovah's witnesses can knock on doors .
canadian press .
montreal the quebec court of appeal upheld a lower-court decision wednesday, striking down a municipal bylaw restricting when jehovah's witnesses can go door-to-door to promote their religion.
This is never going to happen in the free world,
never say never !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I can see it happening, but I think they will always be allowed in open places like markets, malls, downtown, on the street etc. , but I think privacy comes into play here, people do not want them calling on their house when they are not at home, most people do have jobs during the day, and weekends is their family time. So I wouldn't be suprised (not overly optimistic though) if one day they will not be allowed in private areas, such as residential housing.
How does it work for private apartments or condos??? are they allowed in such places, I walk in some condos and a big sign on the door, absolutely no soliciting or delivery of flyers, do not JW's fit that category ???
well, it has finally happened.
my jw husband came home last week and told me he is moving out.
it seems he has been talking to the elders, and they feel his spirituality is being threatened (even though i have not insisted he stop going to meetings, i won't allow any jw material in my home because of my children from a previous marriage - i don't want them exposed to it.
when I met him - he was already df'd.
what made him go back ???
I believe when you marry someone, you accept the children as part of yours, thus alimony may have to be paid.
I have heard cases where a couple had a child and 15 years later the husband found out it was not his kid, divorced and still had to pay for that child, even though DNA tests proved the child was not his.
I know your case is different , but check it out with a lawyer, you DO have a lot of rights.

After he leaves, attend a few meetings at his Kingdom Hall. That oughtta fvck him up. If you do that, he'll have no scriptural ground for leaving. It's a bit of a price to pay (sitting for 2 hours, listening to garbage), but he can't say you've been slowing him down spiritually. Still change the locks on the doors so he can't come back to you.... and let the elders know who you are.
I love this idea, but could you do it ???

Well, since everything is fact, not hearsay. I would have an article printed in the local paper, warning other women of the potential problem there is in marrying a jw, when you yourself do not believe. Point out why he is leaving and who is guiding him to that decision. Then after printing that, make sure everyplace he frequents get enough copies of this paper.....put the spotlight on him and the elders.
well said Obiwan !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have supported this man financially for the past three years, and he is just getting to the point he can pay his own way - thus the decision, I guess. And now, he is leaving me with all the bills, etc., and says he won't be contributing anything financially. Since I make more $$ than he does, I could never make a case for alimony.
BS, oh yes you can, if you were married you have alot of rights, see a lawyer,
So, I WANT REVENGE! If you're going to tell me this is unhealthy and just to move along with my life, don't even bother to post.
No it's not unhealthy, they try to destroy your life and don't even flinch, did anyone from the Kingdom Hall ever come see you ???
I already know what I should do... but I REALLY want to teach this man a lesson. And I want it to cause as much trouble for his congregation as possible, because they are a major part of the problem. Especially the elders. They have been "pushing" him in this direction ever since his reinstatement - or as soon as they realized I was not a potential convert.
Don't let up, gp after them with all guns firing !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
it's none of our business, but why did he have to be re-instated, maybe you can use his past ???

I see JH already posted the article, so let's just go with the last part of the question,
if outlawed, would you call police on the JW's ???
